Stories of Power: Community Workshop at Westmill Energy

On 18 June 2026, members of the Thinking Through Infrastructure Network visited Westmill Energy near Swindon for a community workshop on renewable energy and visual storytelling. The day started with a tour of Westmill Wind Farm and Westmill Solar Park, led by lead education officer at WeSET, Emma Arnold. Participants were also invited to engage with the farms through sketching and drawing.

In the afternoon we decamped to the National Trust site at Coleshill and shared our memories, experiences, ideas, and stories of community energy. We used drawing, colour, craft, and other forms of visual storytelling to produce a collaborative poster about these experiences and to map the social and cultural benefits of the farm at WeSET.
