Graphic Refuge wins the 2026 Charles Hatfield Book Prize

The Charles Hatfield Book Prize, named for co-founder and first President of the Comics Studies Society, Charles Hatfield, recognises scholarly books from the previous year that significantly advance the field of Comics Studies — that is, books that greatly add to our understanding of comic art and/or its historical, cultural, critical, or theoretical contexts.

On 12 June, Graphic Refuge: Visuality and Mobility in Refugee Comics was announced as the winner of the 2026 Charles Hatfield Book Prize.
